    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $307,946.00
    Summary
A large proportion of people with depression, anxiety or suicidality do not seek help. Existing methods to screen for these conditions are not sufficiently effective and are not well incorporated into health care systems. This study will develop new, individually tailored ways to screen for mental health conditions. The study will test the implementation of these screening tools into a tailored service that combines online and primary care services.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $154,781.00

This research is essential for the provision of adequate speech and psychological treatments for children who stutter.

Firstly, a novel, integrated, stepped-care treatment for alcohol dependence and comorbid anxiety or depression will be examined in a randomised controlled trial. Secondly, the relationship between sleep disturbances, relapse and treatment retention and outcomes will be characterised. Thirdly, genetic predictors to the treatment of the anti-craving medications, acamprosate and naltrexone will be investigated. The first two aims will utilise subjects recruited across three sites in Sydney while the third aim will involve analyses of blood samples and clinical data from my current project

Evaluation Of A Case Formulation Interview To Guide Treatment Of Anxious Children

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $153,054.00
    Summary
Anxiety disorders are common in childhood. Current treatments result in improvement for 60% of children however they are not widely used in the community. This project will evaluate a treatment planning interview designed to improve the match between a child’s difficulties and the treatment that they are offered. This will increase the number of children who benefit from treatment, encourage widespread and save money by reducing treatment time and decreasing risk of future problems.
