Adult literacy and Aboriginal community well-being in western NSW. Adult literacy and Aboriginal community well-being in western NSW. This project aims to examine the effect of an adult literacy campaign on Aboriginal communities in New South Wales. Since 2012, four western NSW Aboriginal communities have implemented a Cuban-designed mass campaign model to address very low levels of adult literacy. Closing the gap between the wellbeing of Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth: A comparative case study. Indigenous communities in Australia (and elsewhere) suffer from extreme disadvantage. This project investigates the nature and extent of problems faced by Indigenous Australians trying to access the birth registration systems within Australia. Following extensive consultation with Indigenous communities and other key stakeholders, this project will identify the causes of the problem and recommend appropriate solutions.

This project aims to investigate the impact of the re-introduction of the Banned Drinker Register in the Northern Territory, where rates of alcohol-related harm are more than twenty times that seen in other Australian states.

Indigenous Australian children experience middle ear disorders earlier in life and for longer periods than their non-Indigenous counterparts. The resulting listening challenges can have implications for academic achievement and future health and well-being, despite normal hearing thresholds. The current project aims to determine the effects of pervasive otitis media and related hearing loss on Indigenous children’s listening ....The ABC’s of listening and learning: a study in the Northern Territory.
