The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Yet our transition also needs to be fair. This project will develop a social justice framework for the implementation of a zero net emissions climate transition for rural Victoria. This will be the first comprehensive incorporation of social justice framework with detailed mitigation strategies for rural Australia. The research will combine insights from leading Australian and international energy groups and current research to produce valuable inputs into a national just transitions strategy and provide benefits to Industry partners and the sector. The project will significantly contribute to our understanding of a just climate transition.Read moreRead less
Better Responses to Gender-based Violence in Cambodia's Construction Sector. This project aims to produce the first systematic assessment of gender-based violence (GBV) in Cambodia’s construction sector, which employs an unusually high percentage of women. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, the project will investigate the causes and manifestations of workplace GBV and produce an analysis of local and international labour movement actors’ efforts to combat it, with a focus on how Cambod ....Better Responses to Gender-based Violence in Cambodia's Construction Sector. This project aims to produce the first systematic assessment of gender-based violence (GBV) in Cambodia’s construction sector, which employs an unusually high percentage of women. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, the project will investigate the causes and manifestations of workplace GBV and produce an analysis of local and international labour movement actors’ efforts to combat it, with a focus on how Cambodia’s cultural, political and economic context influences local actors’ uptake of international norms. In addition to academic benefits, this analysis will benefit our partner organisations, which plan to use the project's findings to strengthen their programs and better equip local unions to tackle workplace GBV. Autistic adults tend to have poor employment outcomes and poor well-being, but these outcomes have mostly been treated separately. This project aims to investigate the links between sustainable employment and well-being of autistic adults. Survey and interview data will be collected in partner organisations after implementing two training programs for autistic staff and colleagues. Expected outcomes include enhanced capacity of both employers and employees to pro-actively manage job demands and build resources of autistic employees. This should provide significant benefits by improving sustainability of autism employment programs, thus providing social and financial benefits to autistic individuals, employers, government, and society. Mineral resource extraction is increasingly contentious and conflictual. Leading global companies are responding to high profile issues by commissioning independent inquiries into past events with the reports released publicly. Little is known about the governance arrangements of these inquiries, their independence, or their role in stimulating change. This project aims to investigate the utility of independent inquiries commissioned by global mining companies for different stakeholder groups. By drawing comparisons with government-led commissions of inquiry, the project aims to develop guidelines for industry inquiries to achieve meaningful change and improve resource governance outcomes globally.Read moreRead less
Industrial disasters, disclosure deficit: Can transparency level the field? This project aims to identify and apply innovative forms of transparency and new processes of public accountability for energy transition minerals. Recent tailings dam disasters have damaged the global mining industry’s reputation, eroded public trust, weakened investor confidence, and raised new challenges for insurers and other stakeholders. Companies are under intense pressure to disclose information about their activities and satisfy a concerned public that they are not putting people and the environment at risk. The research will benefit end users by improving Australia’s ability to maximise its mineral resource endowment, supporting the transition to low-carbon technology, and safeguarding these assets for future generations.Read moreRead less

Premature brittle failure of rock & cable bolts due to stress corrosion cracking can cause fatalities and serious damage, and has been reported in several mining operations across Australia and world-wide. The evidence suggests that microbial activity is a contributing factor. The project aims to implement experimental methodologies to determine the specific conditions responsible for bolt failure and develop novel prevention techniques applicable in underground mines. The benefits of this research will be improved understanding of the environment causing catastrophic failure of bolts and avoidance of potential hazards & economic loss in mining projects. This will lead to improved safety & increased productivity in mining operations.Read moreRead less

Next generation smart lighting to improve sleep and alertness. Light has a powerful influence on our sleep and alertness. The manipulation of the amount of blue in a light source and the visual brightness of a light source are key factors, but there has been no systematic study that can guide manufacturers in the design of the ideal light source for promoting either sleep or alertness. Light has a powerful influence on our sleep and alertness. The manipulation of the amount of blue in a light source and the visual brightness of a light source are key factors, but there has been no systematic study that can guide manufacturers in the design of the ideal light source for promoting either sleep or alertness. This study will systematically examine the impact of the amount of blue light in a light source and the visual brightness, creating a wide range of combinations that can be used to model the optimal light specifications for sleep and alertness, while maintaining visual acuity and colour discrimination. This will be the evidence base needed by the lighting industry to create the next generation of smart lighting.Read moreRead less
