Marine oil seeps and airborne particulates characterisation for organic compositional fingerprinting by using novel gas chromatographic technologies. Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC) is a powerful new tool for studying complex organic materials. The technique provides a highly sensitive method of fingerprinting not only the composition of the material but also its environmental history and behaviour. Optical fibre photoreactor for removing airborne molecular contaminants and volatile organic carbons for semiconductor fabrication and fuel cell applications. The collaboration integrates concepts from photocatalysis, optical fibre technology and filtration, to solve important issues in the semiconductor fabrication and fuel cell industries. Emerging futures: transit-oriented development as a strategy for dealing with urban sprawl and congestion in South East Queensland. This project will examine the phenomenon of urban sprawl in SEQ to understand how sprawl is impacting on architectural and urban environments. Transit-oriented devlopment (TOD)is seen as a global strategy for inhibiting urban sprawl, but the benefits of TOD are not yet measured in Australia.
