Summary
The UNITE Network - supported by the Australian Health Research Alliance’s National Indigenous Researcher Capacity Building Network (IRNet) – will develop a cohort of Indigenous researchers, confident and competent in the necessary skills at the intersection of scientific method, Indigenous knowledge systems and translation research.

Improving zoo/aquarium conservation learning outcomes: a values approach. This project aims to improve the educational value of zoos and aquariums in teaching and engaging the public about conservation issues. Although zoos and aquariums claim their current education programs are effective in reaching and educating the public on conservation issues, research shows their influence on visitors’ environmental behaviour is limited. Simulation training has been adopted widely in aerospace, nuclear power and the military, but simulation in medicine has a relatively short history. Mesozoic Austral Biodiversity: Research and Regional Museum Applications. The impact of environmental alteration on Australia’s biodiversity has poorly understood long-term effects. This project examines the controversial biogeography and evolution of Australia’s biodiversity during the Age of Dinosaurs (mid-Cretaceous ~100 MYA) and their adaptational responses to climatic change. Significance: self-harm and suicidal behaviours are increasing at alarming rates in young people. Schools are ideally placed to respond but many struggle to do so. New regular measures and advanced machine learning algorithms measuring change in risk in real time will enable schools to respond in a timely and effective manner
