2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Complete the 5 min survey now by clicking on the link below.

Molecular Epidemiology Of Neisseria Gonorrhoeae In Different Communities In Sydney, :informing Control Measures

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $22,677.00
    Summary
Gonorrhoea is the second most common notifiable bacterial sexually transmitted disease (STD) in Australia. This project seeks to evaluate typing methods to identify transmission patterns of different strains of gonorrhea. The molecular strain typing methods and the antimicrobial resistance surveillance outcomes employed in this study when integrated with STD control strategies will provide pragmatic and cost effective approaches whereby the enhancement of HIV spread by STIs will be curtailed.

    Funding Amount
    $68,617.00
    Summary
Even in post-genomic age cisplatin continues to be widely used as a highly successful anticancer drug. However, the drug has a number of side effects and does not show activity against many types of cancer. in some cases, resistant form of cancer develops for which the drug does not function. An example is ovarian cancer. This project aims to arrive at new platinum-based anticancer drugs targeted to ovarian cancer.

Design And Use Of Conductive Biopolymers In Neural Stem Cell Network Formation

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $74,055.00
    Summary
Growing neural tissue from stem cells on an electrically conductive surface can improve cell growth over the short term, yet the functionality of the cells has never been fully established. We will investigate the use of polymers for facilitation of neural tissue growth from stem cells, test the functionality of the tissue produced, and investigate the effectiveness of implantation of the developed tissue into primates to supplement or replace damaged tissue.

End-of-Life Care And Dying-at-Home: Choices And Needs Of People With Intellectual Disability And Their Carers

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $104,343.00
    Summary
With the continued push towards community living for people with intellectual disability, how best to provide support at the end-of-life remains a neglected research area. This occurs against a backdrop of an increasingly ageing population, in an arena where end-of-life care and dying at home is the preferred option for most people. This research breaks new ground, aiming to establish supports such that people with intellectual disability may remain at home until the end of their life.
