DomeLab: an ultra-high resolution experimental fulldome. DomeLab - an ultra-high resolution experimental fulldome: This project will establish the first ultra-high resolution (4000 x 4000 pixels) experimental fulldome in Australia (DomeLab). This fulldome facility will provide a powerful immersive dome-based video projection environment. Partners will work collaboratively across three themes: interactive media, future museology and experimental humanities. This project is the first major historical study of overseas news in the press in Australia. Its focus is on the changing political economy of overseas news production, including the role of international news agencies, between 1860 and 1910. It analyses technological, economic, political and cultural factors affecting overseas news availability and the extent and forms of its publication in Australian newspapers. The project is an extended case study of the interaction of global and local factors in a key area of cultural production. This national project will be the first study to examine the collective history of Australian journalists and photojournalists who have covered major wars and international conflicts from the Boer War to the 'war on terror'. It will be a timely and path breaking contribution to history, offering a new understanding of key issues including the journalists' experiences; the discourses that defined Australian national id ....Witnesses to War: Australian War Correspondents from the Boer to the Gulf War. This national project will be the first study to examine the collective history of Australian journalists and photojournalists who have covered major wars and international conflicts from the Boer War to the 'war on terror'. Our research will enhance both journalistic and policymaking practice by providing comprehensive, contemporary data about the relationships between journalism practices and Indigenous policymaking processes. We will examine media texts, policy documents, public statements and journalists' and policymakers' local knowledge.
