Pathways to social cohesion and social change: opinion-based groups and the dynamic formation of identities. This project will update the understanding of political conflict by exploring groups based around shared opinions. It will show that groups are likely to be more successful in their political campaigns when they tie their causes to national and other positive identifies.

Cultural continuity and change: Indigenous solutions to mental health issues. This project will investigate the Aboriginal understandings of mental health in Aboriginal populations in Perth and in Broome. Concepts of cultural continuity and social and emotional wellbeing will be examined, and the outcomes of this will inform services and policy to better meet the mental health needs of Indigenous people.

The proposed SRI brings together research leaders from across 22 Universities and multiple disciplines including history, politics, anthropology, international relations, law, education and studies in culture, society, media, communications, migration, gender, regionalism, heritage, and Indigenous societies. ....Australia Research Network: Integrating and Value Adding Australian Research through Production, Enhancement and Communications Capacities, across the Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts. Evaluating the feasibility and effect of using a hospital wide coordinated approach to introduce evidence-based changes for pain management. This project will develop a comprehensive educational program and approach to pain management for public and private hospitals that could be used by other hospitals elsewhere. An educational program for hospitals staff, and specifically for Pain Resource Nurses, will be produced.
