Over the past decade, Australian Legal Aid Commissions have reduced the number of grants for legal representation, while introducing a range of new services, many of which are designed to assist clients to solve their own dispute out of court, or to undertake much of the work associated with court proceedings themselves. Over the past decade, Australian Legal Aid Commissions have reduced the number of grants for legal representation, while introducing a range of new services, many of which are designed to assist clients to solve their own dispute out of court, or to undertake much of the work associated with court proceedings themselves. This project will focus on developing a response to issues arising from the interaction between different legal systems operating in the same social sphere (legal pluralism).
