This project aims to investigate and develop techniques to improve customer relationship management (CRM) for public and private organisations. It aims to develop an intelligent framework to assist in adaptive marketing and management of customers. The framework is designed to manage multiple information resources for information sharing, and to synthesise knowledge through visualisation. Intended outcomes are standardised XML profiles for the different data sets and business processes, novel techniques for conjoint mining of structured and semi-structured data, and adaptive business intelligence techniques. The results will be validated using large real-world data sets provided by the partner organisation.Read moreRead less

EII targets consolidated research towards the comprehensive development & establishment of advanced information infrastructures. Its prime purpose is to provide a forum for intellectual exchange by diverse yet complementary research groups, to address the fundamental research problems faced by scientific & business communities when dealing with deployment of information technology to globally distributed, and data intensive environments. EII will address 3 tightly coupled research themes: Ability to interoperate across existing heterogenous platforms & applications; Efficient processing of very large data sets; Technology adoption & impact. Generic results will be applicable to e-science and large business information systems installations.Read moreRead less
Multi-level analysis of human resource management systems on hospital outcomes. This project explores the relationships among human resource management systems, perceived organisational support, trust-in-management and commitment of healthcare workers. The fundamental aim is to assist hospital managers to determine where to direct their efforts to have maximum impact upon staff and hospital performance.
Lead-free oxide perovskites for highly efficient solar cells. This project aims to develop nanostructured lead-free oxide perovskites for solar energy applications. These materials will strengthen the future of photovoltaic technology by overcoming bandgap voltage limitations and toxicity/stability issues that plague conventional silicon-based and emerging halide perovskite-based solar cells. This project is expected to advance the rational design of solar cells based on oxide perovskites, which ....Lead-free oxide perovskites for highly efficient solar cells. Three-dimensional super-resolution nanophotonic fabrication facility. This stimulated emission depletion microscopy nanophotonic fabrication facility will be the first nanophotonic fabrication facility that is able to achieve optical resolution far beyond the diffraction limit, which will facilitate breakthroughs in cutting-edge nanotechnology research areas.
Evaluating regulatory initiatives directed at audit firms to improve audit quality. This project will provide evidence as to whether recent regulatory initiatives are improving the quality of audits and provide a comparison of benefits associated with audit firm inspections under differing regulatory schemes. It will inform discussion as to whether these initiatives overcome identified problems in audit quality of listed companies.
Nonlinear near-field nanophotonics. This project aims to develop nanostructures which employ both high intrinsic nonlinearities and high indices of refraction to create nanophotonic devices. Silicon photonics promises a technological leap forward through efficient photon-photon interactions within lossless dielectric nanoparticles. Silicon photonics promises a technological leap forward through efficient photon-photon interactions within lossless dielectric nanoparticles. Light-controlling-light devices open new ways to control light-matter interaction at the nanoscale, which form the basis for many applications from all-optical information processing to biomedical sensing. The expected outcomes will provide Australia with advanced technologies of integrated optical circuits with applications in optical communication networks, bioimaging, solar cells and quantum information technologies.Read moreRead less
Mining complex concurrency relationship patterns for dynamic customer/asset interaction modelling through novel industrial behaviour networks . This project will develop novel data mining algorithms to model the evolution of concurrency relationships between customers and assets. It will take into account multiple aspect factors for a business such as seasonality, government policy, and other external events, for making fast, accurate, and efficient business decisions.

Predictive analytics from at home telemonitoring of vital signs. This project aims to reduce unscheduled admissions to hospital, by developing statistical models of people’s health using longitudinal measurements of vital signs and questionnaires. Hospital costs are becoming unsustainable and will overwhelm state budgets within thirty years. Telehealth monitoring to manage chronic disease is becoming increasingly routine internationally and should reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and health service costs. To scale up telehealth services nationally, automated means of assessing changes in an individual health status are needed. This project’s automated risk assessment models are expected to identify exacerbations and orchestrate an optimal response from health services to reduce unscheduled admissions to hospital.Read moreRead less
