Yet the focus of scholarship on medico-legal border control remains almost exclusively on international movement. This project addresses that major gap by researching the regulation of internal movement in past and present pandemic times, with a focus on plague, influenza, SARS and coronavirus in Australia, and in comparison with Hong Kong. It will interrogate the ambiguous internal/international borders of ships in quarantine in the past and in the coronavirus present. A collaboration to study organisational and social factors of work practice change to reduce risk of harm in healthcare. Preventing harm is a national priority in healthcare and research. Recent studies that quantified the extent of healthcare error has focussed policy attention on technical solutions to manage risk. This focus has not brought hoped-for sustainable improvement because the often-invisible environmental barriers to change have not been identified and addressed. Grid-enabled fusion of global data and local knowledge – applying the INWA Grid to eResearch links with China. This project extends a model of eResearch that has been demonstrated between the UK and Australia in a collaboration between the UK National eScience Centre and Curtin University that modelled consumer behaviour in telecommunications and financial services markets using Grid technologies. The INWA (Innovation Node – Western Australia) Grid was extended to the Chinese Academy of Sciences ....Grid-enabled fusion of global data and local knowledge – applying the INWA Grid to eResearch links with China. This project extends a model of eResearch that has been demonstrated between the UK and Australia in a collaboration between the UK National eScience Centre and Curtin University that modelled consumer behaviour in telecommunications and financial services markets using Grid technologies. The INWA (Innovation Node – Western Australia) Grid was extended to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in January 2005 and now offers the potential for applying these techniques to emerging markets within China.
