Self-Supervised Sequential Biomedical Image-Omics. This project aims to develop a self-supervised sequential biomedical image-omics model to uncover the underlying biological processes e.g., normal or abnormal. Sequential biomedical images are state-of-the-art imaging modalities which allow to depict changes in progression to the human body. Sequential biomedical images are state-of-the-art imaging modalities which allow to depict changes in progression to the human body. New self-supervised machine learning algorithms are proposed to derive features from heterogenous and unlabelled sequential images. These derived features will then be used to characterise the morphological and functional changes, which provide opportunities to increase understanding of progression of diseases of individual subject. This project aims to model entrepreneurial resilience, its formation and its influence on how creative transformation occurs, and whether ex ante adaptive capacity is in turn enhanced by having mastered crises. Missing girls: From childhood runaways to criminalised women. This study examines the link between girls declared ‘missing’ and their trajectory into the criminal justice system, expanding the Australian knowledge base along with providing a clear, tangible practice framework to prevent the drift into youth and adult criminal justice systems. NPs, an Australian innovation developed by Aboriginal communities, have become key players in local crime reduction strategies, and carry the endorsement of both government and Aboriginal communities. However, they are operating in an environment of increased ‘top-down’ control and regulation. Does greater accountability to government weaken NP’s ‘cultural’ accountability to communities? This project explores the qualities that make NPs unique. Towards equity in crash protection. Women are at increased relative risk for death and serious injury in motor vehicle crashes compared to men and the reasons for this are not clear. This Fellowship aims to build a new model that describes the mechanistic pathways for this inequity to identify where and how intervention could reduce this relative risk. The recent Royal Commission into Misconduct in Financial Services has highlighted many examples, as have major litigation cases against Australia’s banks for market manipulation at enormous scale. Markets are becoming increasingly fragile with the automation of trading and are failing in funding companies, with fewer companies listing on stock markets. This project will investigate how and why financial markets are failing, what are the real effects of these failings, and what should be done about them. The project will develop policy solutions to mitigate the failings, thereby enhancing Australia’s economic prosperity, benefitting retirement savings, and improving regulatory efficiency.
