Autobiography of a People: Aboriginal Writing in Queensland, 1890s-1930s. Shared and Separate Histories: Landscapes of Memory in the Barunga Region, Australia. This research integrates archaeological, documentary and oral evidence to investigate the dynamic relationships between Indigenous people and place over time in the Barunga region, Australia. By mapping the active construction of social landscapes by different groups in the same place, this project illuminates the webs of attachment between people, place and identity during periods of upheaval and change. This project addresses issues of identity, place and belonging in Australia specifically in recent autobiographical works by Australian writers. It examines and compares selected life narratives of Indigenous and non-Indigenous writers in order to explore how these texts differently configure identity as well as how these understandings have been interpreted by Indigenous and non-Indigenous critics and readers. ....Issues of Identity, Place and Belonging in Recent Works of Australian Autobiography. This project addresses issues of identity, place and belonging in Australia specifically in recent autobiographical works by Australian writers. One such case, is Ngarrindjeri nation and its negotiations with local, State and Federal Government across a complex agenda, including caring for country, community leadership and governance, economic development, a community education strategy, and inter(national) coalition building. It explores links around trade, religion, tourism , travel and the development and operation of the White Australia Policy to demonstrate the 'Othering' of India, but also the circumstances where closer understandings developed. Rethinking Reconciliation and Pedagogy in Unsettling Times. In the context of ?unsettling times', reconciliation processes have the potential to strengthen the fragile network of relationships that holds Australian society together. Unfortunately, the pedagogical potential of reconciliation processes has yet to be adequately elaborated. We need more accounts of reconciliation in action. This project will provide cross-cultural comparative accounts of reconciliation processes in Australia, South ....Rethinking Reconciliation and Pedagogy in Unsettling Times. In the context of ?unsettling times', reconciliation processes have the potential to strengthen the fragile network of relationships that holds Australian society together. Unfortunately, the pedagogical potential of reconciliation processes has yet to be adequately elaborated. We need more accounts of reconciliation in action. This project aims to critically examine theories and methods of research enquiry emerging from contemporary Indigenous Australian research scholarship. It does so by asking ?what is Indigenous about Indigenous research? and ?can there be a distinctive Indigenous Australian perspective on epistemology, methodology and philosophy of research??
The research will be inform ....Indigenous Research Methodologies: Frameworks toward Indigenous Intellectual Sovereignty and the Decolonisation of Research. The research will be informed by analysis of key text/ discourses on Indigenous research methodologies by Indigenous scholars engaged in transformative praxis. Outcomes include the completion of a PhD candidature, mapping concepts and theories of Indigenous Research Methodologies, developing an Indigenous intellectual framework to assist Indigenous scholars to negotiate knowledge production and research methodologies.

Burqas, borders and babies: intimate citizenship in postcolonial Australia. Anti-Muslim sentiment across the globe is increasingly expressed on the grounds that Muslims are misogynistic, raising questions about Muslims' intimate relations. This project will investigate the ways that Muslim intimacy has become a site of political contestation in Australia with implications for migrant security and border security.
LGBTQ Migrations: Life Story Narratives in the South Australian GLAM Sector. This project investigates the role gender and sexual diversity play in migration and mobility to South Australia 1950-1999 and how stories of migration can be collected and preserved.
