Summary
Most sports injury prevention evidence is yet to be translated from professional to community sports settings. Using community-based Australian football clubs, this project will develop and evaluate the strategic implementation of an evidence-based sports safety package. This will provide important information about how to best support community sports clubs to ensure evidence-based safety programs are translated into sustainable policies and practice and public health benefits are maximised

Neck pain in office workers is a major burden in industry in terms of lost productivity and personal suffering. This research will evaluate a novel intervention for the prevention and management of neck pain in computer users. The impact and value of neck specific exercises and best practice office ergonomics will be evaluated from the employers (productivity loss) and workers perspective (severity of neck pain). This project will provide new knowledge to inform and enable future policy and prevention strategies for improving child health and wellbeing. This project addresses the fundamental question as to what extent the Australian flora is adapted to fire by tracing the evolutionary history of the iconic family Proteaceae over the last 100 million years. Effective clinical handover communication: improving patient safety, experiences and outcomes. Communication in clinical handover (transfer of responsibility for patient care) plays a causal role in many adverse events. This project will contribute new knowledge for improvements in handover communication which will be shared across hospitals and health departments nationally to improve patient safety and reduce healthcare costs.
