Neck pain in office workers is a major burden in industry in terms of lost productivity and personal suffering. This research will evaluate a novel intervention for the prevention and management of neck pain in computer users. This project aims to investigate higher density housing and the impact of policy guidance, on-ground implementation of building design criteria, and locational characteristics on residents’ wellbeing. Higher density housing is promoted to sustainably accommodate population growth; however, in some Australian cities there is limited design and planning guidance. This project will investigate the impact that establishing a major recreational and aquatic centre has upon physical activity and measures of community well-being.
