Identification and measurement of the basic dimensions of food knowledge of consumers will inform new education curricula and community communication programs. Summary
Immediate treatment of people diagnosed with HIV infection has become a key public health intervention, based on recent evidence confirming treatment suppresses the virus to undetectable levels, and effectively eliminates the risk of transmission to sexual partners. Our partnership will identify and address barriers to accessing specialist HIV care and starting treatment among people recently diagnosed with HIV, and will contribute to Australia’s goal of ending HIV transmission by 2020.
Regulating Relations: Forming Families Inside and Outside of Law's Reach. Australia is wrestling with the complex challenges posed by the increase in cross-border reproductive care. This project asks: what are the causes and consequences of Australians being excluded from, or choosing to evade, regulated assisted reproductive treatment? The research aims to identify barriers to the pathways to licensed assisted reproductive treatment and motivations for evasion of regulation. This project will develop and focus-test a new community engagement model for engaging disadvantaged communities in childhood obesity prevention programs. This project will investigate patient, public and professional views on organ donation and preferences for consent systems regarding deceased organ donation in Australia, allocation of scarce organs, and protecting the health and safety of living organ donors.
