A key objective is to combine applied and critical approaches in expanding our understanding of the interactions that takes place between external agencies and local communities. HIV/AIDS is one of the greatest contemporary threats to global human security, and its rapid growth in parts of the Asia/Pacific region makes it a major concern for Australia.
