This project aims to investigate how technological progress, its dissemination and heterogeneous adoption, shapes our economy and affects individual wellbeing. New technologies often complement certain workers, tasks or sectoral activities. This project will focus on the complementarities associated with a range of skills and age or experience of workers, and will model the dynamics and heterogeneous effects of technological changes. The proposed novel framework will incorporate multiple dimensions of skill and capital. Combining this framework with more than 50 years of data, the project will analyse the effects of technological change on wage structure and earnings distribution, individual decisions about time allocation and retirement.Read moreRead less
