2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Complete the 5 min survey now by clicking on the link below.

    Autoimmune Channelopathies In Paediatrics Epilepsy

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $47,877.00
    Summary
Epilepsy is one of the commonest neurological disorders. Some children with epilepsy have a known cause for their epilepsy; however in most cases the cause is unknown. One of the proposed causes is auto antibodies targeted against specific brain channels, resulting in seizures. This study will determine whether some patients with epilepsy have antibodies in the blood that lead to epilepsy. By defining an immune mediated epilepsy, we can treat and stop the epilepsy.

Neurological Manifestations Of Experimental Neuronal Voltage-gated Potassium Channel Autoimmunity.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $65,148.00
    Summary
Antibodies against neuronal voltage-gated potassium channels (VGKC) are seen in various neurological illnesses, most commonly epilepsy and memory loss. The role of VGKC antibodies in the development of brain disease will be studied by immunizing rabbits against VGKC and transferring these antibodies to mice.

The Factors Regulation Lung Aeration At Birth

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $35,085.00
    Summary
This research investigates the factors regulating the transition of the lung from the fluid filled organ in fetal life to the air filled organ required at birth. Many preterm babies fail this transition and in order to survive, their lungs often require mechanical ventilation, which has been suggested to cause lung injury. Using synchrotron generated X-rays, we can determine how particular resuscitation techniques are able to reduce this injury and promote aeration at birth.
