2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Complete the 5 min survey now by clicking on the link below.

Neurological Manifestations Of Experimental Neuronal Voltage-gated Potassium Channel Autoimmunity.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $65,148.00
    Summary
Antibodies against neuronal voltage-gated potassium channels (VGKC) are seen in various neurological illnesses, most commonly epilepsy and memory loss. The role of VGKC antibodies in the development of brain disease will be studied by immunizing rabbits against VGKC and transferring these antibodies to mice.

Hereditary Motor Neuronopathies And Neuropathies: Mechanisms Of Neurodegeneration And Potential Modification.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $104,664.00
    Summary
The aim of the study is to investigate the pathophysiology of motor neuron degeneration in its various acquired and inherited forms. Nerve function will be determined by clinical and neurophysiological assessments in patients. The findings of the study will reveal further insights into the cause and progression of disorders of the motor neuron. This data may function to monitor disease progression, response to potential therapies and lead to the development of further therapeutic strategies.

Cognitive Dysfunction In Multiple Sclerosis And Its Relationship To Mood Disturbance And Fatigue

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $57,342.00
    Summary
This research aims to test a hypothesized model addressing the interplay between cognitive dysfunction, mood disturbance, and fatigue in people with multiple sclerosis as well as determine the associated impact on daily functioning and quality of life. The importance of background factors, disease factors and psychosocial factors in predicting cognitive dysfunction will also be investigated. Recommendations for new rehabilitation approaches will be developed in light of our findings.

Mechanism Of Neurological Complications In Cerebral Malaria

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $53,609.00
    Summary
Malaria kills 1 million young children every year. About the same number are saved by treatment with anti-malarial drugs but have brain damage, leading to problems of understanding, learning or memory. The processes in the brain that lead to these changes are unknown. I will investigate a biochemical pathway that is activated during malaria infection, because I propose that this may cause the brain damage that leads to the long-term cognitive problems in survivors.
