AusStage is the Australian internet hub for research on live performance, linking researchers in universities, industry and government. It stimulates smart information use, promotes collaboration on innovative methodologies, integrates access to collections, and provides a substrate for excellent research in the humanities. AusStage meets the national need for public access to reliable information on live performance. Live performance attracts major transnational capital to Australia: its skills, innovation and creativity export Australian creativity abroad, and promote the strengths of Australian society to international audiences. The development of new performance is a key mechanism whereby Australia's national culture is generated and renewed.

Hearing histories of the western Pilbara. This project aims to investigate Indigenous song traditions of the western Pilbara through current practice and legacy recordings. It aims to show how public song traditions were used through the twentieth century as tools to manage environmental change. By recording and documenting songs and histories, and curating and developing an online collection of song-based digital heritage items with a virtual landscape interface, the project is expected to produce knowledge about the role of digital collections and cultural mapping in supporting the sustainment of endangered song traditions. It also aims to develop tools for use by communities and researchers to secure legacy, crowd-sourced and newly created records of intangible cultural heritages for the future.

A hierarchical quantum mechanical and classical simulation of biological ion channels. I aim to develop a methodology incorporating molecular quantum mechanics and classical Brownian mechanics in a way that can be applied practically to large macromolecular systems, thus relating fine structural details to experimentally measurable properties. Specifically, I will apply this methodology to study ion channels in which the challenge is to relate electronic and atomic structure to the conductance properties of the channel. Accurately determining these relationships provides a pathway to developing cures for many neurological, cardiac, and muscular diseases.
