With the completion of these projects, focus has shifted to understanding the molecular networks that regulate the biochemical, cellular and physiological processes that maintain health and the changes to these networks that lead to the onset and progression of disease. With the completion of these projects, focus has shifted to understanding the molecular networks that regulate the biochemical, cellular and physiological processes that maintain health and the changes to these networks that lead to the onset and progression of disease. Within this fluid research landscape, my principal career goal over the next 5 years is to ensure that, during a period of generational change at WEHI, its iconic molecular haematology team continues to flourish. Realizing this goal will allow us to use knowledge of the molecular determinants of health and disease to improve clinical outcomes of poorly treated conditions and in doing so improve the lives of patients and the health of the Australian economy.Read moreRead less
My research focuses on understanding the molecular regulation of blood cell production and function in health and disease with the ultimate goal of discovery of new treatments for blood cell diseases including leukaemia and autoimmunity.
I am a nephrologist, triallist and health services researcher aiming to generate high-quality evidence regarding the prevention and management of chronic disease and to reduce disparities in indigenous health.
Prof Buchbinder is a rheumatologist and clinical epidemiologist investigating clinically important and public health relevant questions related to arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions. I am interested in improving patient care through the dissemination of research findings into practice, improved health literacy and communication between health professionals and health consumers.
Prof Herrman is a psychiatrist and public health physician working to promote mental health in young people and vulnerable populations through better health services for people living with mental illnesses and through population based public health interventions.

Summary
My research is focused on the prevention; treatment; and improvement in the quality of life of people with eye diseases, in particular those with diabetic retinopathy (DR), the most common complication of diabetes and a blinding eye condition. My work focuses on three main areas: (a) determining the effectiveness of interventions to prevent and treat DR; (b) evaluating new therapies and biomarkers for DR; (c) evaluating patient-centred, clinical, and economic effectiveness of new treatments for ....My research is focused on the prevention; treatment; and improvement in the quality of life of people with eye diseases, in particular those with diabetic retinopathy (DR), the most common complication of diabetes and a blinding eye condition. My work focuses on three main areas: (a) determining the effectiveness of interventions to prevent and treat DR; (b) evaluating new therapies and biomarkers for DR; (c) evaluating patient-centred, clinical, and economic effectiveness of new treatments for other eye diseases.Read moreRead less
I am a clinical health researcher who combines the principles of public health and multidisciplinary research (from the “platelet to population”) in order to: 1. Identify key issues arising from an evolving epidemic of cardiovascular disease within our ag
