2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

    Summary
    World Health Organization estimates dengue incidence at around 50 million cases annually with increased frequency & severity of outbreaks in north Queensland over the last decade being mirrored around the world. The NHMRC Asia Pacific Centre for Innovative Dengue Prevention will be a world leading research facility, co-supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Grand Challenges in Global Health, focussed on the discovery and implementation of innovative methods to eliminate dengue.

    The Prehospital Emergency Care - Centre for Research Excellence (PEC-CRE) will build capacity in prehospital research in Australia through the conduct of collaborative research projects between academic researchers, clinicians and ambulance service providers. The overarching goal of the PEC-CRE will be to strengthen the evidence base underpinning prehospital emergency care policy and practice, to ensure that ambulance patients receive ‘the right care, in the right place, at the right time’.

    Testing, Translation & Uptake of Evidence in General Practice: A systems approach. Though General Practice is the frontline of Australia’s health system, new research findings are often ignored by busy GPs, resulting in suboptimal care. We plan to improve this by: A. A network of influential GPs practices to test new research, B. Practice support units who provide GP and patient summaries of new research, C. Active transfer of successful new practices via social media, guidelines, and courses.

    Medicines have an important place in health and are commonly used for long periods, sometimes life-long. Using medicines wisely requires a careful balance between benefits and harmful effects. Currently, there is limited information to guide medicines use over a lifetime. Using large linked datasets, the CRE in Medicines and Ageing will generate much needed evidence about real world medicines use to support clinical and pharmaceutical policy decisions.

    E-health can improve the quality, safety and effectiveness of health services. The Centre for Research Excellence in Informatics and E-health will support the design, evaluation and use of e-health systems in 3 areas: monitoring e-health safety using incident monitoring, evaluating consumer e-health safety, and developing next generation evidence-based support tools.
