This project aims at providing a rich and informative data set and analyses of South Australia's Creative Industries to enable a better understanding of the value networks operating in, across and beyond sectors and enable the State's creative industries to be benchmarked against their national and global counterparts. It will carry out a comprehensive, finely granulated, bottom up data gathering exercise and associated analyses needed at the State level to identify gaps in existing information for addressing policy settings and development. This will extend to a cross-sectoral cluster analysis and support a sustainable industry policy within the changing media environment.Read moreRead less

This project aims to deepen our successful multi-sited collaborative project, DP0345917. Humboldt's Institut fur Sozialwissenschaften has already begun a formal M.O.U. process with The Hawke Research Institute, University of South Australia. Cohen's expertise and sustained onsite co-fieldwork with the Australian CIs will augment this link, the fellowship further ensuring reciprocal understandings of the specificity of each research site, collaborative publications and consistency of methodological approaches. Adherence to common research aims and objectives and cross-cultural benchmarking will significantly enhance Australian leadership in international best practice in youth policy implementations and development programs.Read moreRead less

This research aims to investigate and expand the dialogical possibilities that exist between multiple autokinetic objects within a new media arts environment. Communication between the objects, and with their audience, will be explored through the modalities of gesture, motion and written text. A new aesthetic framework for interactive artwork will be created through research into autokinesis and the behavioural patterns that evolve between people and autokinetic machines. Outcomes will include a major artwork in three stages, underpinned by a robotics software tool set that facilitates composition and experimentation with autokinetic artwork.Read moreRead less
