This proposal brings together leading academics from Australasia to establish a laser scanning facility that will enhance existing projects and explore new avenues in geomatic research. The facility will impact on the research programs of participating institutions in the fields of high-resolution thematic mapping and visualization, environmental geomatics, geomatic monitoring and geomatic engineering. National Electromagnetic Characterization Facility for Advanced Electronic and Biomaterials. The proposed Material Characterisation Facility using non-destructive methods will be unique to Australia. Precise characterisation of advanced materials such as dielectrics and superconductors using the facility will progress emerging technologies within the electronic and communication research area. How parents manage climate anxiety: coping and hoping for the whole family. This project studies how Australian parents manage climate anxiety for themselves and their families. Using mixed-methods/mixed-media approaches, it examines whether an increase in climate disasters is accelerating the spread of collective anxiety amongst families, how parents manage this anxiety for their children and partners, and if there are associated mental health burdens and gendered inequities in this management. ....How parents manage climate anxiety: coping and hoping for the whole family. The philosophical foundations of women’s rights: a new history, 1600-1750. This project aims to show that the history of women’s rights is much longer and richer than previously thought. There is a common perception that the notion of women’s rights first emerged in the late eighteenth century. This project expects to generate a new understanding of feminist history by investigating texts calling for the recognition of women’s dignity, worth, nobility, and excellence (cognate concepts to rights) ....The philosophical foundations of women’s rights: a new history, 1600-1750. Youth identity and educational change in Australia since 1950: digital archiving, re-using qualitative data and histories of the present. This is an historical and longitudinal study of Australian youth and education since the 1950s. It creates a digital archive of the study for future researchers and re-examines earlier qualitative studies to better understand generational changes in youth pathways and educational inequalities.
Navigating the Carceral Interface. This project acknowledges the overrepresentation of young Indigenous people in child protection and incarceration rates. It aims to address the gap in knowledge of how young Indigenous people experience the carceral system and document how Indigenous community organisations support and provide vital contributions to building safer more supportive communities, which is one of the targets of the Closing the Gap policy framework.
