The prediction of sleep/wake behaviour based on physiological and social factors. The prevalence of shiftwork has increased in Australia over the last few decades. Shiftworkers obtain less sleep, have greater difficulty maintaining good relationships, have poorer health, and are more likely to be injured at work than others. Using the largest dataset of its kind, we will substantially contribute to understanding the relationships between work hours, sleep, performance and safety. The extent to which natural selection and migration affect current genetic polymorphism on a population level can be quantified using these new methods. New modeling provides a rigorous foundation with which to construct inference techniques currently beyond computational approaches to the data. It is proposed to install a fully immersive three dimensional visualisation facility in Adelaide, at a cost of $5.3 million including requested ARC contribution of $696,005. Applicant Institutions (Adelaide, Flinders, UniSA and Curtin universities) and Industry will provide the remainder.
The facility will support South Australia's leading scientific researchers in the sciences, engineering, business management, carbon dioxide sequestration, p ....South Australian Virtual Reality Centre (SAVRC). The facility will support South Australia's leading scientific researchers in the sciences, engineering, business management, carbon dioxide sequestration, petroleum exploration and production, space environment, bioinformatics, architecture, surgery, dentistry, archaeology and arts.
The facility will enable researchers and industry to significantly leverage other projects leading to much improved research outcomes and efficiency, potentially worth a hundred million dollars or more.
