2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Role Of Maternal And Obstetric Factors On Long-term Child Health & Educational Outcomes

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $466,492.00
    Summary
Natasha Nassar’s research program uses advanced research methods to address new challenges in child health in a portfolio that extends from bench-to-bedside-to-policy. She will investigate the role of maternal health, serum biomarkers, pregnancy complications and obstetric interventions, and birth on subsequent child health and development. Identification of at-risk children and involvement of clinicians and policy-makers should see her research result in improved child health outcomes.

Defining The Optimal Nutrition In Pregnancy And Early Life To Prevent Childhood Obesity

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $428,900.00
    Summary
Obesity threatens to reduce the length and quality of life of future generations and prevention is a priority. There is now good evidence that the risk a person has of becoming obese is related to the nutritional environment they experience before birth and in early infancy. My research aims to identify nutritional strategies which can be applied safely during pregnancy and infancy to help reduce body fat mass in children and improve their long term health outcomes.

Reducing The Global Burden Of Disease In Maternal And Child Health Through Public Health Intervention Research.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $428,065.00
    Summary
The overall aim of this work is to develop and assess public health interventions that will improve the outcomes of women and children by addressing some of the leading contributors to the global burden of morbidity and mortality. The emphasis is on population prevention and interventions that broadly target behaviour, lifestyle and clinical care.

Novel Point-of-care Screening And Treatment Interventions To Improve Pregnancy Outcomes And To Prevent Cervical Cancer In High-burden, Low-income Settings

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $470,144.00
    Summary
I lead newly-funded research grants worth nearly $10 million to conduct novel intervention trials in sexual and reproductive health. These projects build on the extensive collaborations and the robust nationwide network of clinical field sites that I have established in Papua New Guinea during the past five years. My research will lead to improved maternal and neonatal health outcomes, and prevent premature deaths due to cervical cancer, in high-burden, low-income settings worldwide.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $419,180.00
    Summary
This Fellowship will build upon my research to discover the risk and resilience pathways involved in the long-term health outcomes for Australian children experiencing stress in their early years. This research will inform the planning of better targeted policy, public health and primary health care solutions for children and families in the critical early years of children’s lives.

Breaking The Intergenerational Cycle Of Obesity Through Nutritional Interventions

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $477,180.00
    Summary
The nutritional environmental experienced by an individual before birth and in early infancy is a critical determinant of their risk of obesity and assocaited metabolic disorders in later life. Over the course of this fellowship, I will focus on defining the nutritional factors which are the key drivers of this metabolic programming. My ultimate aim is to identify nutritional interventions during pregnancy and/or early infancy which can improve the long-term health outcomes of the child and redu
