A new-generation gas-source radiocarbon system for integrated environmental and archaeological research. An ultra-sensitive radiocarbon analysis system, proposed here, is central to new, multi-institution research into past fluctuations of Australia's climate, natural resources and ecosystems. The focus of this project is the engagement of remote Indigenous children and families in a culturally appropriate, evidence-based early childhood education and care program that provides an opportunity to close the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous school achievement.

Both the quality and quantity of language children hear, and adult understandings of child development, drive children's future outcomes. Digital noticeboards for remote Aboriginal communities: bringing web 2.0 participation to non-western cultures with low English and technical literacy. Remote Aboriginal communities suffer from geographic and cultural isolation. Web 2.0 offers a solution yet is ill-suited to traditional collective cultures, those with low English and technical literacy, and the poor. This project will produce novel public web-enabled touchscreen noticeboards and table tops suited to traditional cultures.
Effects of maternal foraging success and oceanographic variation on offspring behaviour and survival in the southern elephant seal. Juvenile survival is the key determinant of mammalian population performance, but the proximate determinants of this have rarely been established in large, long-lived predators.
