Exports of natural resources (iron, coal and copper) are an important source of income for the Australian economy. International prices for these commodities have declined in recent years, lowering national income. The aim of this project is to improve our understanding of the behaviour of sex workers and their clients in Indonesia, which has the fastest growing HIV epidemic in Asia. A comparison of the behavioural characteristics of sex workers and their clientele will tell us which groups are likely to be more responsive to particular types of policies.
