2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Assessment Of Functional Impairment In Motor Neurone Disease

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $235,793.00
    Summary
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a devastating disease that causes paralysis of muscles in the arms, legs, swallowing and respiration, causing marked disability. This project will investigate how these changes affect everyday abilities in MND, which will bring unique theoretical and practical contributions to date. On a theoretical level, it will contribute to a growing body of knowledge in MND. On a practical level, this project will lead to better care and support for patients and families.

Relaxin-3 Systems In Brain: Neurophysiology And Behaviour

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $287,321.00
    Summary
The project aim is to better understand the function of a newly-discovered signalling molecule in the mammalian brain, know as relaxin-3. Recent research suggests that this chemical is vital for normal animal behaviour, such as arousal, stress, and learning and memory processes. This project will thoroughly characterise how this chemical modulates activity of brain regions that subserve behaviour in rats. This should reveal clinical implications of relaxin-3 in human behavioural disorders.

    Summary
This proposal will assist in improving human health, quality of life and patient lifespan. Head and Neck cancer is of high prevalence in Australia and China. An Investigation Of The Role Of The Pre-frontal Cortex In Cognitive Ageing And Dementia

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $291,629.00
    Summary
This project will investigate the role of the pre-frontal cortex in cognitive ageing and dementia. New neuroimaging techniques will be used to precisely measure this cerebral structure in a large ageing cohort The new brain measures will be used to identify risk and protective factors of cognitive ageing and dementia. This project is highly significant because it will contribute to the identification of at risk individuals and guide future intervention and clinical studies.
