The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

How Does The Trunk Influence Intersegmental Coordination During Functional Tasks In Parkinson’s Disease: A Risk Factor For Falls?
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$328,032.00
Summary
Differences in trunk motion during dynamic tasks may provide a mechanism of falling in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients. However, objective measures are needed to discern if these differences stem from deficits in motor programming or increased trunk stiffness. This information is critical for developing effective interventions. This project will incorporate innovative techniques to examine how the trunk muscles coordinate movement and control balance during walking in PD.
Translation Of Effective Interventions In Injury Prevention And Trauma Care To A Chinese Setting
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$349,407.00
Summary
Evidence informed injury policy is not currently well developed in China. This research project will provide measures of the effectiveness of both a trauma care protocol in a hospital setting, and an intervention program for novice driver education-training in China, and will therefore contribute to the building of an evidence based injury prevention capacity in China.
Population Dynamic Modelling Of The Public Health And Health Care Cost Implications Of Intervention To Prevent Lifestyle-related Disease And Injury
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$381,789.00
Summary
There is growing interest in a more preventive model of health care in Australia. More than a third of poor health is attributable to risky behaviours, such as tobacco and alcohol use, obesity and poor nutrition, with lower socio-economic and Indigenous populations particularly affected. This research will develop new techniques to identify intervention strategies that should be given funding priority to achieve maximum improvement in population health and reduce the health inequalities.
Enhancing Knowledge About The Role Of Human Factors, Enforcement Practices, And Legislation In Australia And China To Inform The Development Of Culturally-specific Speed Management Strategies To Reduce Road Trauma
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$384,756.00
Summary
Death and injury from speeding-related road crashes is a global public health crisis; thousands are killed on our roads daily. This project aims to reduce road trauma by better understanding speed management practices in Australia and China; two countries at different levels of road safety development. Legislation will be compared across jurisdictions and police and drivers in both countries will provide information to assist in developing speed management policy and practice to help save lives
Targeting Depression For The Primary Prevention Of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD): The Role Of Diet In Risk Reduction
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$311,860.00
Summary
Traditionally, efforts to prevent people from developing cardiovascular diseases (CVD) like heart disease have focused on reducing smoking and alcohol intake and improving physical activity and diet. There is now evidence that having depression might also lead to CVD and that unhealthy eating might contribute to this relationship. This research will determine whether targeting people with depression and improving their mood through healthy eating ultimately reduces their CVD risk.
Effects Of Resveratrol On Obesity In Non-human Primates
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$328,992.00
Summary
My research area is pharmacology focussing on drug metabolism in ageing. Drugs work differently in older people. By understanding why this is treatment can be optimised for older adults. This research will investigate the mechanism of action of resveratrol a dietary supplement on reducing diet-induced obesity and how it can be applied to ageing. Better understanding of resveratrol will lead to new approaches for treating obesity-related disorders and ageing diseases to improve quality of life an ....My research area is pharmacology focussing on drug metabolism in ageing. Externalising Behaviours In Young People: Predictors, Prevention And Treatment.
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$314,644.00
Summary
This Fellowship aims to reduce the burden associated with externalising behaviours (including aggression, violence, substance use, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), conduct disorder (CD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and Substance Use Disorders (SUDs)) among young people in Australia. This body of work will provide a comprehensive assessment of the predictors, prevention and treatment of externalising behaviours, so as to inform resource allocation and service delivery.
