The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Sexuality, masculinity and technology: men and intimacy in the digital age . Digital technology has been pivotal in shaping and reshaping sexual intimacy and sexual relationships amongst young Australians. It has been a major focus in policy and education development regarding young people’s sexual health. Digital technology has been pivotal in shaping and reshaping sexual intimacy and sexual relationships amongst young Australians. It has been a major focus in policy and education development regarding young people’s sexual health. However, young Australian men’s lived experiences of sexual intimacy, technology use and masculinity are absent in these discussions. This project aims to understand young Australian men’s experiences of sexual intimacy and technology use, and how those experiences relate to their masculinity and sexual engagement with women. This project will enhance knowledge on the ways young men engage with women and enhance capacity to build community collaboration in working with men on gender equality.Read moreRead less
Alcohol and tobacco use among lesbian, bisexual and queer identifying women. This project aims to examine practices of alcohol and tobacco use among lesbian, bisexual and queer-identifying (LBQ) women, which are considerably higher compared to heterosexual women. This project aims to examine practices of alcohol and tobacco use among lesbian, bisexual and queer-identifying (LBQ) women, which are considerably higher compared to heterosexual women. By using an innovative, longitudinal qualitative approach, this project expects to generate new knowledge regarding the cultural and social forces that shape higher rates of alcohol and tobacco use among LBQ women, and to better understand their impacts. It is anticipated that the project will enhance the capacity of health promotion and policy organisations to meet the alcohol management and smoking cessation needs of this population. Findings from this project should help to alleviate health and social inequalities experienced by LBQ women.

Giving Mums a fair go: culturally-responsive care for refugees and migrants. More than one-third of women giving birth in Australia are refugees or migrants, who have poorer pregnancy and childbirth experiences and outcomes compared to Australian-born women. More than one-third of women giving birth in Australia are refugees or migrants, who have poorer pregnancy and childbirth experiences and outcomes compared to Australian-born women. This project uses an intersectional lens to explore how lived experiences of gender inequality, racism, and migration contribute to social disadvantage and poor experiences of maternal health. A participatory research approach will be used to engage with refugee and migrant women and provide them with an opportunity to share their stories in their own voices. Knowledge generated will increase understanding of why these women have poorer pregnancy and childbirth experiences, and potential solutions will be co-developed to address these inequalities in the future.Read moreRead less
Control of developmental switches by importin 5. Aims: This project will study a key molecular switch called IPO5, a protein that is required for cells and organs to form and function normally, and it will reveal how it works.
Significance: These experiments will provide the first complete description of how this molecular switch controls the behaviour of a cell across its lifespan. IPO5 is highly conserved, so these studies will be relevant to a wide range of animals.

Significance: These experiments will provide the first complete description of how this molecular switch controls the behaviour of a cell across its lifespan. IPO5 is highly conserved, so these studies will be relevant to a wide range of animals.
Expected Outcomes: This knowledge will reveal how IPO5 controls formation of sperm by revealing what other proteins it binds to and how this affects cell signaling and responses to the environment.
Benefits: This will provide information about potential interventions to control fertility or to repair abnormal cells.

This project aims to investigate the sociological dimensions of digital health data for sexuality and gender diverse people with complex health needs. It employs qualitative and co-design methods to engage with sexuality and gender diverse people, advocates, clinicians, decision-makers, and health data designers. The project expects to generate much-needed knowledge about the participation of sexuality and gender diverse people in health data systems, with respect to trust, disclosure, stigma and prejudice. Expected outcomes include insight for enhancing health data systems for sexuality and gender diverse people. This project should provide significant benefits for the promotion of inclusive, safe and useful health data systems.Read moreRead less

Missing people, missing stories in the aftermath of genocide. This project aims to explore how the unresolved issue of the missing people from the 1992-95 Bosnian conflict has affected the social identities, memories and settlement patterns of the survivors in three diaspora contexts in Australia, Sweden and The United States. This project aims to explore how the unresolved issue of the missing people from the 1992-95 Bosnian conflict has affected the social identities, memories and settlement patterns of the survivors in three diaspora contexts in Australia, Sweden and The United States. The ethnographic study expects to generate new knowledge in the area of forced migration and provide understanding of the complexity of the refugee condition in the aftermath of genocide. Expected outcomes of this project include institutional and interdisciplinary collaborations, raising awareness about the missing worldwide and informing policy on migration and resettlement of refugee communities after conflict, loss and social fragmentation.Read moreRead less

This project aims to develop new analysis methods associated to the Schrodinger operator, and to solve several challenging problems regarding dispersive partial differential equations (PDE). Long-time dynamics of PDE solutions are a key goal in both pure and applied mathematics, and have been extensively studied by leading mathematicians and mathematical physicists. However, it is unknown how to investigate large solutions when the order of the PDE's nonlinearity is low. This project expects to develop new methods to attack such problems. The results of the project will be of great importance in mathematics and physics, as many fundamental physical models in areas such as optics, fluid mechanics and quantum mechanics fit the paradigm.Read moreRead less

It aims to unify the most significant attributes of harmonic analysis such as restriction estimates, dispersive properties of differential operators, spectral multipliers, uniform Sobolev estimates and sharp Weyl formula. Such unification will strongly improve tools for mathematical modelling in all areas of technology and science. Notable applications include medical imaging, fluid dynamics and subatomic modelling using quantum interpretation.
