Summary
Chronic heart failure is increasing in prevalence and is primarily a condition of ageing. Although chronic heart failure has worse outcomes than many cancers, patients are often denied the benefits of palliative care with its emphasis on symptom management, spirituality, emotional health and focus on family issues.
