Summary
Australian Panel Data Users Network. Recent years have seen increased concern about how economic, social and technological changes interact with experiences occurring within families, workplaces and communities. Understanding these forces, however, requires panel data that track agents over time. Australia has only recently begun investing heavily in such data, raising concerns about our capacity to capitalize on this investment.

Australia has only recently begun investing heavily in such data, raising concerns about our capacity to capitalize on this investment.
The aims of this network therefore include:
· enhancing the capacity of researchers to undertake panel data research;
· promoting cross-disciplinary research using panel databases;
· facilitating opportunities for contact between panel data researchers; and
· promoting the use of appropriate methods for analysing panel data.

Overcoming Violence and Building Peace in Conditions of Complexity in PNG . The project is an investigation of the drivers and inhibitors of three inter-related forms of violence in Papua New Guinea - tribal fighting, sorcery accusation related violence and family and sexual violence. The harm caused by these forms of violence is systemic and ongoing, with widespread negative impacts for women, men and children across multiple dimensions of social and economic development. Virtual Observatory for the Study of Online Networks (VOSON). This project is the first stage in establishing the Virtual Observatory for the Study of Online Networks (VOSON) - a Grid-enabled research environment facilitating innovative and collaborative research into the impact of social and political networks on the Internet. In addition to the development of prototype Grid-enabled software that will 'power' VOSON, we will establish international linkages with leading researchers in the UK and ....Virtual Observatory for the Study of Online Networks (VOSON). This project is the first stage in establishing the Virtual Observatory for the Study of Online Networks (VOSON) - a Grid-enabled research environment facilitating innovative and collaborative research into the impact of social and political networks on the Internet. With 850 franchisors, it has over three times the number of systems per capita than the United States. However, Australian franchises are small due to the country's limited population, with 60% of systems holding fewer than 30 units.
