Reconfiguring intimate life: Gender and sexuality as sites of national redefinition in Australia since 1996. This project opens up current thinking about the nature of change in twenty-first century life in Australia by focusing on issues of gender and sexuality. Using feminist pedagogy to resist harmful messages of weight-loss dieting. This project aims to develop strategies to intervene in destructive weight-loss dieting norms aimed at women at a cultural level. Weight-loss dieting is a gateway to developing eating disorders; psychiatric conditions with a total socioeconomic cost of $69.7 billion in Australia and the highest mortality rate of all mental illnesses. Domestic violence affects up to 36% of women (Mouzos et.al 2004). Its annual economic cost is $8.1b (Access Economics 2004). In 66% of cases children are present (Bagshaw et.al 1999). Effects on women and children are poor mental health, homelessness and impaired work/education performance (VicHealth 2004). The International Criminal Court and the Protection of Women's Rights in Conflict and Post-Conflict Contexts: International Developments and Regional Strategies. As a country with a strong commitment to human rights and a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC), Australia has a leading role to play in supporting ICC efforts to end impunity for perpetrators who commit crimes against humanity. This project will strengthen Australia's position as an international advocate for the Court ....The International Criminal Court and the Protection of Women's Rights in Conflict and Post-Conflict Contexts: International Developments and Regional Strategies.
