Robotics Research Network (RRN). The RRN brings together all the best robotics research groups in Australia with the aim of fostering and coordinating cooperative research. The RRN integrates researchers from fields including machine perception, sensing, control, artificial intelligence and mechatronics. The RRN includes representation from twelve Universities, CSIRO and involvement of four ARC Centres. Optimal design of controlled aerodynamic bodies: from concept to prototype. This interdisciplinary project will deliver technological advances in the areas of fluid dynamics, control systems and optimisation. It utilises advanced knowledge in these areas to design manoeuvrable aerodynamic bodies and will have a direct effect on Australian defence capability.

Micro/nano optomechatronics sensing, measurement, and control research facility. This project aims to establish a facility that enhances the capabilities for sensing, positioning, and manipulating of micro/nano scale objects and environment, and as such constitutes the building block for many frontier technologies such as nanotechnology, bio/nano medicine, microsurgery and neurosurgery, biotechnology, microbiology, microfluidics, and micro/nano manufacturing, all of which are still in their infa ....Micro/nano optomechatronics sensing, measurement, and control research facility. Controlling coastlines while generating power. The Project aims to produce strategies for protecting coasts from storms using farms of wave-energy machines, which also generate electricity. Increasing lengths of coast need protection as the climate changes, but conventional barriers create permanent environmental impacts and are a sunk cost usually borne by the taxpayer. The Project expects to derive a strategy for the setting of each machine in the farm, so that they collectively absorb or refl ....Controlling coastlines while generating power.
