Engaging Outsiders in Sport: Transforming Sport Event Legacy Planning . The project aims to investigate intersectional inequities in sport participation for girls, women and non-binary people in Queensland by working with them to envision legacies for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Using a co-creation approach this project expects to identify how and what benefits can be achieved through legacy planning that engages with end-users who have historically been marginalised in sport. Using a co-creation approach this project expects to identify how and what benefits can be achieved through legacy planning that engages with end-users who have historically been marginalised in sport. In doing so, the expected outcomes of the project include the development of evidence-based resources to improve engagement in sport and to build capacity and sustain meaningful change for communities and organisations.Read moreRead less
Improving digital sexual literacy in Australia. This project aims to theorise digital sexual literacy in Australia and identify useful interventions aimed at increasing this literacy. Agent-Based Simulation - New Approaches for Design and Prototyping. The project will improve the capacity of Australian companies to bring products to market more quickly where there are complex trade-offs between interacting actors. The simulation guidelines will help understand interaction in complex systems and the identification of important factors in the air traffic domain. The research will also preserve the leading position of Australian technology for high quality simulations of air tra ....Agent-Based Simulation - New Approaches for Design and Prototyping. The philosophical foundations of women’s rights: a new history, 1600-1750. This project aims to show that the history of women’s rights is much longer and richer than previously thought. There is a common perception that the notion of women’s rights first emerged in the late eighteenth century. This project aims to show that the history of women’s rights is much longer and richer than previously thought. There is a common perception that the notion of women’s rights first emerged in the late eighteenth century. This project expects to generate a new understanding of feminist history by investigating texts calling for the recognition of women’s dignity, worth, nobility, and excellence (cognate concepts to rights) in England and Europe from 1600 to 1750, against the backdrop of the rise of Cartesianism. The anticipated outcome is greater awareness of an enduring feminist tradition within the history of philosophy. The expected social benefits include a shift in public thinking about feminist history and women in philosophy.Read moreRead less
Women on liberty: from the early modern period to the enlightenment (1650-1800). Our modern ideals about liberty were forged in the great political debates of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, but little is known about women’s participation in those debates. This project will be one of the first to examine early modern and enlightenment women’s writings on political, moral, and metaphysical concepts of liberty. It will do so by bringing together leading scholars in the field.

A novel Internet-based clinical trial service. The best way to test whether a clinical treatment intervention is effective is a randomised controlled trial (rct). Rcts are expensive, both in terms of resources and time. The internet may provide a method of conducting rcts which is efficent and provides access to those in remote communities. The purpose of this project is to assess the feasibility of developing a structure for conducting rcts using the internet.
