Turning points? Life events and trajectories of later-life loneliness. This project aims to investigate whether and how significant life events generate temporary or sustained changes in loneliness, using rich panel survey data and the collection of in-depth interviews. ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course. The 2020 ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course (LCC2020) aims to deliver transformative research and translation to break the cycle of deep and persistent disadvantage for Australians. Critically, LCC2020 will tackle disadvantage in specific context to understand how people negotiate it daily in real places, and how best to design policies and programs that support improved life pathways. Whilst Australian families continue to diversify, public perceptions and policies related to families appear entrenched in a normative understanding of family. This project will provide a genealogy of public and policy accounts of Australian families, map public perceptions of a diverse range of family structures and modes of family formation, and identify how differing cohorts of Australian families talk about their famil ....Australian family diversity: Individual experiences and public attitudes. This project aims to address the problem of young people not in education or work. It will identify solutions about what, how and when families, communities and governments can most effectively support young people with different risk factors to remain or become fully socially and economically engaged from early adolescence to adulthood.
Lactation after loss in contemporary motherhood and healthcare delivery. This project aims to investigate how lactation and breastmilk donation after infant death may modulate bereaved mothers' grief experiences. It will draw upon bereaved mothers' experiences, the practices of lactation and bereavement specialists, and online content of select contemporary healthcare services. This project aims to investigate the changes wrought by different sorts of mobile work on household life in Australia, with specific attention to personal and family wellbeing. Child & Adolescent Victimisation: Prevalence & Predictors in Australia. This is a study to determine the rate and predictors of child and adolescent experiences of victimisation in an Australian population based sample.
This study will address widespread concerns about the experiences of violence by Australian children. No previous population based studies have addressed this issue.
