I am a physiologist working to understand how disturbances during pregnancy can alter fetal development and increase the risk of developing adult onset diseases such as cardiovascular disease, renal disease and diabetes. In particular I am interested in how alterations in kidney development may play a crucial role in disease development.
As a researcher in evidence-based medicine Prof Glasziou is principally concerned with developing a greater understanding among clinicians and researchers of the causes of, and solutions to, gaps between research evidence and the application of this research to practice. Specific research interests include:understanding the applicability of treatments;the effectiveness of diagnostic and disease monitoring processes; and the cognitive processes underpinning clinicians decisions to use or not use ....As a researcher in evidence-based medicine Prof Glasziou is principally concerned with developing a greater understanding among clinicians and researchers of the causes of, and solutions to, gaps between research evidence and the application of this research to practice. I am a glial-vascular biologist determining the cellular and molecular mechanisms of vessel formation in the retina and choroid. These studies are undertaken during normal developmental and various experimental models of pathological neovascularisation. A
I am a developmental biologist who identifies and characterises genes required for normal embryonic development in mouse. I translate this information into the genetic diagnosis and developmental understanding of congenital malformations in humans.
My background is in the study of human molecular genetic disease, and my interest has evolved to the analysis of embryonic development using the mouse as a model system. My particular interest is in the molecular mechanisms governing limb and craniofacial
We are studying stem cells and their utility for transplantation into several organ systems including blood, neural and liver. We are also determining the relevance of epigenetic changes in transplanted cells that may interfere with normal function and could be the basis for disease.
