The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Dissecting The Pathogenesis Of The Severe Neurodegenerative Disease, Friedreich’s Ataxia: Development Of Novel Therapeutics
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$316,449.00
Summary
Friedreich’s ataxia is a devastating neuro- and cardio-degenerative disorder which does not have an effective cure. The studies proposed in this Fellowship are crucial for understanding the progression of this disorder and the development of excitingly new therapeutics.
The Extent And Impact Of Pharmaceutical Opioids For Chronic Non-cancer Pain
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$318,768.00
Summary
There have been dramatic increases in the use of pharmaceutical opioids (PO) for chronic non-cancer pain (CNCP), despite limited data on their long-term effectiveness and an increase in associated harm. This Fellowship provides critical new data to inform both clinicians and policymakers on the global extent of PO for CNCP, trajectories of problematic use and associated morbidity and a unique evaluation of the impact of real-time prescription monitoring program to reduce these harms.
Targeting The Metastasis Suppressor NDRG1 For The Treatment Of Pancreatic Cancer.
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$327,142.00
Summary
We will investigate NDRG1, a novel molecular target that has been demonstrated to inhibit the progression of numerous cancers. We aim to better understand the underlying functions of NDRG1 in pancreatic cancer and how we can potentially target this gene with novel therapeutics being developed in our laboratory. We hope that this new approach will lead to more promising treatment options and a better outcome for those suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Public Attitudes Towards Using Pharmaceuticals For Neuroenhancement.
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$343,888.00
Summary
Neuroenhancement is the use of pharmaceuticals and other substances by ñhealthyî people to improve their normal cognitive abilities - for example by improving their attention span, memory or mood. By conducting in-depth interviews with community members this project will explore understandings of, and attitudes towards, neuroenhancement among Australian adults. This information is essential to inform policies, and medical practice, in the use of pharmaceuticals for neuroenhancement purposes.
