The research looks at the extent to which twenty-two of the world's richest countries support development in the Pacific Islands region through their efforts with respect to aid, trade, migration, private investment, security, technology and environmental sustainability. It will develop an index that will rank these countries on the basis of these efforts.

This project will contribute directly to an improved knowledge of the determinants of the structure of economic activity, and macroeconomic performance and economic growth in Australia. Having a better understanding of the main influences on Australian economic growth will assist in the development of policies to promote these outcomes. This Project will produce a detailed profile of Sydney's linkages - locally, nationally and internationally.
