Low-complexity factor-graph-based receiver design for bandwidth-efficient communication systems over doubly selective channels. This project aims to solve challenging problems in future wireless communications using graph-based signal processing techniques. It will provide practical solutions for future broadband mobile communications to the bush and high-speed underwater acoustic communications in the oceans that are particularly important to Australia.
Modelling network innovation performance capability: a multidisciplinary approach. Innovation is created in complex network interactions.
By combining agent-based and fuzzy logic modelling, this project will identify combinations of resources to generate new ideas/technologies. This will enable managers and policy makers to understand the mechanisms behind innovation and implement policies aimed at enhancing innovation processes.

This project will use information collected from the NSW cancer registry and hospitals to report on changes in the type and risk of breast cancer spread and survival for women with a new diagnosis of breast cancer before and after new treatments introduced since 2005. This information is essential for doctors to provide women with up-to-date information; and for planning appropriate health services and research.

Emotion is a fundamental human experience, yet different languages provide very different ways of talking about it. What are the consequences of this? Are these differences culturally constrained? 100 Gbit to 1 Terabit per second optical communication test bed facility. This facility will develop and demonstrate novel optical technologies that will underpin the generation and transmission of a higher-speed Ethernet at 100 Gb/s to 1Terabit/s, and will lead to better broadband and more energy efficient internet. At the foundation of this research will be a test bed with multiple signal sources at data rates above 50 Gbaud.
