2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Understanding And Preventing Gastroenteritis And Foodborne Disease In Elderly Australians

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $69,684.00
    Summary
Foodborne and gastrointestinal diseases amongst older people are an emerging concern for the Australian public and an overstretched health care system. In this study, I will undertake research to understand the pattern of disease among elderly people using data from national surveys of gastroenteritis and surveillance of infectious diseases. This study will provide evidence for strategies to control foodborne disease and gastroenteritis in elderly people and aged care homes.

Evaluation Of An Online Injury Surveillance System In Community Sport

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $60,741.00
    Summary
Despite high rates of injury, there is currently no way to accurately record injuries in community sport. To address this issue an online injury tracking system has been developed for community sports clubs. This research will test the utility of this system within community Australian football clubs and compare it with other injury recording methods. With better methods of injury recording, we will improve our understanding of injury risks. In turn, this information can be used to make sport sa .... Computerised Surveillance Of Invasive Fungal Infections In Hospitals Using Existing Hospital Information Systems

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $123,453.00
    Summary
Patients undergoing organ transplants or chemotherapy for cancer are susceptible to infections caused by fungi. Hospital outbreaks of fungal infections related to construction have occurred. Monitoring of these infections is required due to their considerable heath and economic costs. We aim to build a computerised system allowing for the real-time identification of fungal infections, leading to improved outcomes for patients, early recognition of hospital outbreaks and cost-savings.

Type 2 Diabetic Renal Complications And Microvascular Injury: Novel Predictors Of Onset And Progression, Mechanisms Of Association With Cardiovascular Disease And The Benefits Of Fenofibrate.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $84,448.00
    Summary
We will investigate the mechanisms of diabetic complications related to kidney and blood vessel disease, focusing on identifying people at greater risk and ways to improve or prevent these complications. In addition, we will look at how diabetic kidney disease affects non-kidney related problems like heart disease and examine the benefit of fenofibrate on both. This greater understanding will aid further drug development in kidney and cardiovascular diseases.
