Integrated high-performance control of aerial robots in dynamic environments. The outcomes of this project will enable novice pilots to safely operate aerial robots in dangerous and dynamic environments through novel intuitive user interfaces and advanced control algorithms. The project will contribute strongly to Australia's presence in the emerging world market of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Synthesis and Analysis of Canine Anabolic Steroid Metabolites. The Australian racing industry is a major driver of economic activity. In NSW, racing is estimated to contribute $1,000 million to GDP, $151 million to Government revenue and provide 50,000 jobs. The future security and prosperity of the racing industry depends on maintaining the highest standards of integrity in the public eye, and this in turn depends on the enforcement of regulations relating to illicit substances. Optical phased array for space debris tracking and manoeuvring. Space junk in low Earth orbit is increasing at an alarming rate, jeopardising our access to critical navigation, communications, weather and natural disaster warning services. This project will prevent collisions of debris with satellites by developing a new laser system called an optical phased array to track and remotely manoeuvre space debris.

A high-speed light-weight embedded vision system for robotics and computer vision applications. Eyesight is the strongest sense for humans and much of the brain is dedicated to vision processing. This project aims to develop an analogous vision capability for small, dynamic robots: a small, light, camera that preprocesses the raw video data to provide higher level information to the robot.
How does alcohol sponsorship of sport affect drinking behaviour and attitudes in at risk youth? Implications for public policy and the sport industry. This project responds to national and international research priorities by examining the controversial association between sponsorship of sport by alcohol brands and consumption behaviour in target youth and sportspeople. The research is large scale and multidisciplinary, and will impact policy development and the business of sport in Australia.

Improving written and spoken communication in clinical handover will significantly reduce critical incidents in hospitals. The link between communication and critical incidents in hospitals is well documented. One third of the $2 billion p.a. direct financial costs to Australia of critical incidents, is attributed to poor communication between clinicians.
