The test bed will empower Australian researchers in network technologies and dependent applications (for example, multimedia and security) to collaboratively develop and demonstrate novel ideas at scale. By 2060, nearly half of Australians aged 64 or older will be employed. Failure to address their health problems could threaten Australia’s economy, tax base and provision of health and care services. Interactive computer vision for image interpretation. This project aims at pushing forward the fundamental research in interactive computer vision. The outcome of this project will enable reliable and efficient solutions to real world image interpretation tasks, such as medical image analysis, financial document processing, and impact evaluation from natural disasters.
Mental health, job quality and workforce participation: evidence from population health research to address complex problems and conflicting policies. Mental disorders such as depression are a major cause of disability. Improving mental health can increase productivity and workforce participation. However, the psychosocial quality of work is a factor that overlays the relationship between work and health. Poor quality work (for example, unreasonable time pressure, insecurity) increases the risk ....Mental health, job quality and workforce participation: evidence from population health research to address complex problems and conflicting policies. Mental disorders such as depression are a major cause of disability. Improving mental health can increase productivity and workforce participation. However, the psychosocial quality of work is a factor that overlays the relationship between work and health. Poor quality work (for example, unreasonable time pressure, insecurity) increases the risk of poor mental health, absenteeism, and exit from the workforce. This project will analyse data following people over time to investigate the long-term health and employment consequences of poor psychosocial job quality, and consider the special case of mature age workers. Governments have expended vast resources on building websites, yet how government is structured on the internet is unknown. This project will map Australia's online government for the first time and assess to how websites are supporting improved government service. The study will support government innovation in web design and service delivery.
View-based processing of pattern matching queries in large graphs. Graph data exist ubiquitously in modern information systems. Graph pattern matching (GPM) finds parts of the data graph that match a given pattern. It has applications in many areas including knowledge discovery, public health, and crime detection. This project will develop novel techniques for the efficient processing of GPM queries in large graphs.
Walking with dinosaurs in the Kimberley: mapping the Cretaceous landscapes of the Dampier Peninsula. The coastline of the Dampier Peninsula, Western Australia, preserves what is arguably one the largest and most significant stretches of dinosaur track-sites in the world. Despite recent National Heritage listing, the majority of these tracksites are largely undocumented, such that their full scientific significance is poorly understood.
