This project will provide policy makers and service providers with important comparative assessments of the way policies designed to promote economic participation are executed by frontline staff and will provide essential data for designing policy which is more effective in assisting the unemployed to find sustainable paid employment. Securing the Australian city: the governance of critical infrastructure in climate change. This project focuses on the securitisation and governance of critical urban infrastructure (that is energy, water, transport, communication) within the context of climate change. The research examines how critical infrastructure is framed as a key security issue, and the implications for climate governance in Australian cities.
A knowledge base to model the relationship between individual's lives and their communities. This research will 1) model the impact of ?communities? on residents' lives, and study the inter-relationships between community assets and structure, the life-situations of residents, collective and individual well-being; and, 2) study the relationship between people's levels of social connectedness and community affiliation on community functioning.
