LGBTQ Migrations: Life Story Narratives in the South Australian GLAM Sector. This project investigates the role gender and sexual diversity play in migration and mobility to South Australia 1950-1999 and how stories of migration can be collected and preserved. Histories in relation to interstate, international, and global migration into South Australia exist, however there is a significant need to address the lack of knowledge on, and record of, how minority sexuality and gender influenced movin ....LGBTQ Migrations: Life Story Narratives in the South Australian GLAM Sector. Four South Pacific Museums: New Museums and Public Culture. The last decade has witnessed a global explosion in the development of new museums. Nowhere is this more striking than in our region where four major new museum buildings opened between 1998 and 2001.
FOUR SOUTH PACIFIC MUSEUMS will explore these regional developments by asking:
-How are they renovating their institutions through exhibitionary, architectural, technological, commercial and entertainment strategies?

FOUR SOUTH PACIFIC MUSEUMS will explore these regional developments by asking:
-How are they renovating their institutions through exhibitionary, architectural, technological, commercial and entertainment strategies?
-How are they re-negotiating relationships between indigenous people and museums in post-colonial nations?
This interdisciplinary project will generate significant publications, evaluate contemporary museum practices, enrich debate about the cultural and civic roles of museums, and contribute productively to imagining their future.

Network for Research Development in Medieval and Early Modern European Social and Cultural Studies. Funding is sought to establish the framework for an Australian-based international research network of scholars in medieval and early modern studies (MEMS). The MEMS network will develop collaborative, cross-institutional and interdisciplinary lines of enquiry in three main areas: family, gender and social history; war, peace and conflict; Australian reception of European culture. Drugs are increasingly and widely used in pharmaceutical markets and lifestyle practices. As pharmaceutical markets expand, the distinction between therapeutic and illicit drugs becomes unclear. Assessing the Australian Football League's (AFL) racial and religious vilification laws to promote community harmony, multiculturalism and reconciliation. This interdisciplinary project analyses the effectiveness of AFL corporate policy on racial and religious vilification with a view to providing recommendations for further policy actions. A better understanding of how ethnic harmony, diversity and toleration can be achieved will help strengthen the social fabric of the Australian community. Defining the Status of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Young People. This project aims to improve the social cohesion of Australian society and the living standards of a significant group of our young people. Around 25 per cent of all Australians aged 12 to 24 are from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. In collaboration with nine Australian organisations, the project aims to critically define the status of CALD youth; develop the first national status reporting frame ....Defining the Status of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Young People. Large screens and the transnational public sphere. With over 8 million annual visitors, Federation Square, Melbourne, is emblematic of the new public sphere emerging at the junction of physical space and media networks. Fed Square's large screen is integral to 70 large-scale cultural events hosted at the site each year attracting an average of 30,000 people. This project will establish a partnership between Fed Square, the Australia Council and Art Center Nabi in Seoul, pioneering the exchange o ....Large screens and the transnational public sphere.
