The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

The proposed gasification process with its features, such as low energy demand, inexpensive manufacture, and simplicity, will offer an effective and alternative solution to the problem of municipal solid waste disposal. If deployed across the country, the volume reduction of waste will be 5 million tonnes per year. The corresponding reduction in greenhouse gases will be 15 Mega tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent or 2.7 per cent of the net national emissions. About 9 Terra Watt hours of electricity (3 per cent of the national demand) can also be produced, generating $700 million per annum.Read moreRead less

Real-time query processing of multi-dimensional uncertain data streams is fundamental in many applications such as environmental monitoring and location based services. This project aims to develop effective techniques to explore the massive multi-dimensional uncertain data streams in real time. The project will develop, analyse, implement and evaluate novel indexing and query processing techniques to effectively and efficiently support a set of primitive queries including rank-based queries, dominance-based queries and proximity-based queries. The results of this project will be an important complement to the development of data stream systems and will bring considerable social, economic and technological benefits to Australia.Read moreRead less

This project aims to mitigate energy and environmental problems by fusing the fields of membrane separation, biocatalysis and electrochemistry. The novel single-enzyme biofuel cells can generate electrical power from processes like wastewater micropollutant degradation and flue gas carbon dioxide conversion. However, the bottleneck is the lifetime of enzymes and the lack of efficient reactor design. This project expects to overcome these challenges by developing metal-organic framework-based bioelectrode materials, and integrating them with separation membranes and single-enzyme fuel cells for energy generation. This project is expected to transform the current biocatalytic process for wastewater treatment and gas separation.Read moreRead less

This project aims to develop new strategies to better synthesize ultrathin Metal-organic framework (MOF) membranes by nanostructured and chemically functionalized substrates. MOF materials have enormous potential due to the extraordinary structural and chemical diversity of these crystalline microporous materials and their potential applications in gas storage, separation, catalysis and sensing. However, a major challenge is fabricating thin robust MOF films or patterns on porous, flexible, and nonporous substrates, quickly and easily in order to construct useful devices. The project will grow ultrathin layers of molecular sieving and electroactive MOFs to produce technology platforms for large scale device manufacturing.Read moreRead less
