Design of novel nanoporous semiconductor materials for clean environment and energy. This project will develop a low cost nanoporous semiconductor device for the capture and conversion of CO2 into fuels by using water and sunlight. This novel approach will deliver a low cost technology that offers clean energy and will help to mitigate global warming.
The place of history in science: reassessing the Darwinian revolution. This project aims to examine how historical representations of Darwin and his revolutionary theory have influenced the shape and direction of modern evolutionary science itself. Socially just schooling: a cross-cultural analysis of gender, cultural diversity and social change within Australia and the UK. The study will examine issues of gender justice, cultural diversity and schooling. Through cross-cultural insight developed from analysis of schools in Australia and the UK, the study will enhance policy and practice associated with socially just schooling.
Youth identity and educational change in Australia since 1950: digital archiving, re-using qualitative data and histories of the present. This is an historical and longitudinal study of Australian youth and education since the 1950s. It creates a digital archive of the study for future researchers and re-examines earlier qualitative studies to better understand generational changes in youth pathways and educational inequalities.
Public responses to alternative water supplies: the role of risk, beliefs and identity. The research aims to understand why community members accept or reject alternative water supplies options such as recycled water. The project significantly advances knowledge about this issue and provides important information to inform risk management and communication programs.

This project aims to design, synthesise and characterise molecular and framework co-crystals in which the molecular components are arranged in permanent concentration gradients. Synthetic crystals of this type are unprecedented. As global efforts to respond to climate change fail to protect the most vulnerable, its impacts will continue to cause grief and suffering through loss of life, wellbeing, place and culture. Plasmonic nanoparticle catalysis for nitrogen-based synthesis. Light can generate an optical force to capture small objects. This requires intense light – a laser, which limits optical trapping in catalysis applications. This project aims to apply plasmonic nanoparticles with normal-intensity light to take advantage of plasmonic-generated optical forces for catalytic chemical synthesis.
