Conceptualizing and Measuring Digital Service Quality. The project aims to understand customer quality perceptions of digital services, and the factors, such as customer's own skill-levels, that help people to optimise their experiences. The project aims to understand customer quality perceptions of digital services, and the factors, such as customer's own skill-levels, that help people to optimise their experiences. Public and private organisations are pushing customers from face-to-face to digital service and self-service models, sometimes offering no alternatives (eg many travel visas can only be obtained online). E-commerce research suggests up to 80 per cent of service users will sometimes struggle with online transactions. In the worst case, people may be excluded from accessing important services. Insights from this research are expected to help public and private organisations to deliver high-quality digital services that empower service users.Read moreRead less

The Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) will lead the development of an online global legal research facility ('WorldLII' - the World Legal Information Institute), in cooperation with an international consortium of other free access providers of legal information. While doing so, we will extend the quantity and quality of AustLII as Australia's only national legal research infrastructure, and integrate its content into the emerging WorldLII global structure and standards. The result will be a comprehensive system for global Internet legal research. All Australian legal researchers will benefit.Read moreRead less
Service Ecosystems Management for Collaborative Process Improvement. Australian government agencies currently explore opportunities for streamlining their business processes. Australian government agencies currently explore opportunities for streamlining their business processes. A promising approach relates to the improvement of cross-agency processes based on service-enabled technologies. This project will use requirements within Queensland Government for the design of a service ecosystem and methodological and management concepts to derive a general framework for intra-organisational ecosystems. Though the focus will be on government processes, the project will generalise beyond this scope for a wider uptake of service ecosystems in Australian organisations. This will lead to reduced process costs and risks and will leverage the exploration of new revenue streams, e.g. shared services and reward schemes.Read moreRead less

Real-time Analytics on Urban Trajectory Data for Road Traffic Management. This project aims to develop real-time analytics and data management capabilities that leverage large-scale urban trajectory data to provide road operators with real-time insights into population movements and enable data-driven, customer-centric network operations. This project aims to develop real-time analytics and data management capabilities that leverage large-scale urban trajectory data to provide road operators with real-time insights into population movements and enable data-driven, customer-centric network operations. Current traffic management practices rely heavily on aggregate vehicle count data from fixed road sensors, which have limitations in accurately measuring traffic demand and network congestion propagation. This project seeks to develop innovative technologies to use a wide variety of data sources, especially massive trajectories of vehicles moving across the network, to better understand people's travel demands and road usage patterns and thus better manage the transport system.

The project will address the detection of infections caused by category A biological agents which pose a risk to national security. The project will contribute to Research priority 4 'Safeguarding Australia from invasive diseases and securing our critical infrastructure' by developing detection and alerting techniques for potential catastrophic threats. The Australian community will benefit from more efficient detection and management of potential biothreats to health and infrastructure. The application of the model to other industry sectors will enable better strategic planning and implementation of biosecurity initiatives. The potential national cost-benefit is impressive given limitations of currently used surveillance tools.Read moreRead less
